As a member of the St. Thomas Prayer Warrior team, you would receive monthly prayer updates via email. We will let you know how God has been answering our prayers for the youth since the last update, and what prayers are needed for our youth in the next month. We will include prayer requests for Youth Ministry events, prayer intentions unique to that month, a special intention of the month, and more. We will also send you very brief weekly emails with a selection of actual prayer requests from our youth that they recently submitted at various Youth Ministry events.
Thank you for your discernment in becoming a St. Thomas Youth Ministry Prayer Warrior! This is an opportunity for you to join a team of Prayer Warriors in our parish family who are devoted to praying for all of our youth on a regular basis. As you know, there is a great spiritual battle for the souls of our youth. We need people to step up to the challenge and take on this spiritual battle to defend our youth from the devil who only seeks to draw them away from our Lord.
We Plant & Water. God Grows.
With all we do in Youth Ministry and in our personal lives to lead youth to a deeper relationship with our Lord, we are laboring in vain if we do not pray for our youth and hand them over to the Holy Spirit. In fact, we may do the planting and the watering, but it is God who causes the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). We ourselves cannot convert the hearts of our youth or deepen their faith. It is only God who can do such a beautiful work in souls. Yet we are given the great honor and responsibility of becoming channels of God’s grace. Through our prayer and sacrifice, we can bring light of Christ to all youth.
For Our Parish Family
In becoming a St. Thomas Prayer Warrior you would not onlybe improving the faith and life of each of our youth, but also fostering the unity of our parish family and contributing to the integrity of all its members. In fact, “The more a person learns to pray, the more profoundly he realizes that he has ties to a spiritual family through which the power of prayer is made effective. With all my concern for the people whom I love, I stand in the midst of the family of mankind and may receive strength from the prayers of others and may call down divine assistance for others” (YOUCAT #487).
