Fr. William Tunarosa Combita was born August 8, 1973 in Garagoa, Boyaca, Columbia. His parents are Maria Socorro Combita and Jose Rafael Tunarosa. He has two brothers and two sisters.
Fr. Tunarosa completed his basic education at St. Anthony North Elementary School in Duitama, and his high school education at the Technical Institute Rafael Reyes. He studied philosophy and theology at the Major Seminary of Tunja and was ordained a priest on December 7th, 2006.
His pastoral assignments have included: Parochial Administrator, Parish of St. Jude Thaddeu (Corrales, Columbia);  Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Candelaria (Socha, Colombia), Sacred Heart (Aurora, IL) & St. Jerome (Nobsa, Colombia); Pastor, Our Lady of Chiquinquira (Labranzagrande, Colombia); and Assistant Priest at St. Rita of Cascia (Aurora, IL).
Fr. Tunarosa was incardinated to the Diocese of Rockford in April 2012 and is presently assigned to St. Thomas the Apostle in Crystal Lake, Illinois, serving our ever-growing Hispanic Faith Community. His hope is to grow in his faith, to know and love God more and more, and to live Christ’s command: “love one another as the Father has loved you”.
