If you have asked yourself these or similar questions, the “Good News” is that you are not alone. These are the questions of our hearts and souls and the Light of the World process seeks to answer them right here within St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. The Light of the World Retreat provides time away from the everyday demands of life to renew your personal relationship with God. The retreat consists of a series of presentations, each building on the one before to complete the proclamation of the "Good News."

Retreats are offered twice a year one in the Spring and one in the Fall.
How Do I Do This? The Light of the World Retreat provides time away from the everyday demands of life to renew your personal relationship with God. God’s love for you required the ultimate sacrifice and resurrection of his Son, Jesus. He came that you might have life and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The retreat is an opportunity to reflect on this truth and allow it to penetrate your heart. There is no anticipated response, only the assurance that the Holy Spirit will meet you right where you are. You need only to trust in God’s faithfulness.
What Should I Expect? The retreat consists of a series of presentations, each building on the one before to complete the proclamation of the “Good News”. For this reason we ask that you please plan to attend the entire retreat. There will be opportunities to make new friends as well as time for your own personal prayer. Following the retreat weekend you will have the opportunity to join a small faith- sharing community where you will find on-going support on your faith journey. All meals, snacks and beverages will be provided for you while on the retreat. You will not need to bring anything with you, but feel free to bring anything that will make you more comfortable. The dress is casual and the atmosphere is relaxed. At the close of each day you will return to your own home.
When Does This Happen? Retreats are offered twice a year one in the Spring and one in the Fall. The 2009 Fall the retreat will be offered Friday, November 6th through Monday, November 9th.

Where Will I Go From Here? Your Light of the World retreat is just one step in your journey of faith. The insight and experience you gain during your renewal weekend will go forward into your life, the lives of your family and into your parish community when you elect to continue in your faith walk through participation in a Small Faith Sharing Community, attendance at Adult Formation Evenings, and Outreach to Fellow Parishioners sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
