St. Thomas Outreach Ministry
Supported by contributions from individuals and the parish
tithe. Open on Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 am in
the office at the Little Christopher Shoppe, with voice mail
monitored daily. Volunteers staff and monitor the messages. If
you are interested in volunteering please call the Parish Office
at 815.455.5400. Bilingual volunteers are also needed.

Ministry
This ministry is for individuals,
families and teens who wish to serve those in need in
our parish family and our community. If you would like
to share your time and talents to serve others in our
parish and local community, if you or someone you know

Support groups for children 4-14 yrs of age living in
single-parent families, step-families or families going thru
painful transitions.
Divorce & Beyond

support groups for divorced Catholics.
Nurses
Offering blood pressure screenings once a month on Sunday after
the Masses
Elizabeth Ministry
An outreach to women
in special times of motherhood, including pregnancy, caring for
a new born, miscarriage and infant death.
Newsletter for the Homebound and Hospitalized
"God's Open Window"
serves as a connection between our parish community and members
who are homebound, hospitalized or in nursing homes.
Volunteers help in publication of articles, puzzles, prayers and
poetry.
Jail Ministry
Part of a countywide
program called C.U.P. (Community Upholding Persons). An
ecumenical group of volunteers who share the word of Christ with
those incarcerated in the McHenry County Jail. Four teams
rotate each week on Sunday and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
St. Thomas team members average one visit per month.
Communion--Bring to the Homebound, Nursing Homes and Hospitals
Trained and
commissioned volunteers take Holy Communion to those unable to
attend Mass on a weekly basis. Volunteers must be
confirmed, in a valid marriage, widowed, single or divorced.
Ride Ministry
Volunteers provide
transportation to church.
Retrouvaille
A diocesan
organization which acts as a lifeline for troubled marriages.
Help with Parish Mailings
Volunteers are
contacted as needed to assist with folding, stuffing envelopes,
assembling booklets. Sessions usually last 1 or 2 hours.

Lunch Time Receptionist Volunteer
Volunteers are needed
to cover the Pastoral Center reception desk for one hour a
day during the week.
